TOTO Gallery MA Exhibition “How is Life?”

Exhibition design for a special exhibition by Gallery MA.

The time has come to rethink the framework of architecture in order to continue to live with the earth. This exhibition is part of the challenge to rethink architectural intelligence from the point of rethinking our way of living, which transcends planetary boundaries and brings climate change and disparity.

As exhibition designer, ara determined the placement and presentation of the projects selected by the curators. In order to realize a space that responded to the big question, “How is Life?”, we listened to the people involved as much as possible and worked with them to create the exhibits, while we built the exhibition by hand. In the process, I personally had many encounters that I cannot describe here, which gave me great suggestions for my daily practice.

The exhibition is composed of a series of such earnest practices that are ongoing in different parts of the world, overlapping each other spatially, so that various themes emerge from the overlap of the projects.

I believe that the content of this exhibition was completely different depending on the experiences of the viewers. I hope through the experience at the exhibition, participants will be able to move their hands, think for themselves, and discover architecture as an intelligence that anyone can imitate.

The exhibits and fixtures were planned to be reused as much as possible after the exhibition. In fact, the amount of waste generated after the exhibition was over was only enough for one person to carry.
