Kagawa Dental Clinic

Renovation of a dentist’s office in a room of a multi-tenant building in Kokuryo.

The dentist is one of the places we visit regularly.Since it is part of our daily routine with a rhythm of once every few months, we designed the space so that it can be used comfortably as an extension of our daily life.

Although the dentist’s office has many private rooms, we partitioned the upper part of each room with glass to take advantage of the light from only one side, allowing soft light to reach the examination room and waiting room at the far end of the building. The planning was also designed to be comfortable for the workers by placing the disinfection area in the center and compacting the staff’s flow lines.

Both the waiting and examination rooms are designed to be bright and soft, and are compact in scale, making the dental clinic a series of places that are familiar to the body like a house.
