駒込と巣鴨の間にある15m2の小さな花屋。
週末だけオープンする花屋であり、地域のクリエイターさんや小さな事業者に棚貸しをしたり、花に関するワークショップを行う場でもあることから、花でいっぱいになる規模の店舗でありながら、フレキシブルに空間を変化させることが求められた。内装にはほとんど古材を使用しており、古材の寸法に合わせて什器の脚や照明の仕組みなどを調整している。つまり、計画にそって材料を選ぶデザインと異なる、材料をもとに計画を作ることによって店舗空間ができている。
小さな商いでも、つくるプロセスや、商うプロセスで、物を循環させ、仕事をつくり、知識のやり取りをすることができる。そんなことに気づくことのできる、小さな町の複合施設となった。
Komatokamo is a small 15m2 flower shop located between Komagome and Sugamo.
As a flower store open only on weekends, and a place to rent shelves to local creators and small businesses, as well as a place to hold workshops related to flowers, the store was required to be flexible and change the space, despite its size to be filled with flowers.
Most of the interior is made of used wood, and the fixture legs and lighting mechanisms were adjusted to match the dimensions of the old wood. In other words, the store space was created by creating a plan based on the materials, as opposed to a design in which materials are selected according to a plan.
Even in a small business, the process of making and the process of doing business can circulate things, create work, and exchange knowledge. This small town complex was a place where one can realize such things.
